Acrylic base and Oil on wood boards totalling 36”x72”...
My largest painting yet for my final painting assignment. This took forever and thank you to everyone who came to the reception and saw it in person! Swipe to the end for some process.
‘Charades' explores the contradiction of a false perception, when something appears one way yet simultaneously opposes itself creating a false sense of conflict. Similar to the actions of a hypocrite, false perception runs deep in many lives and affects our trust in others. Contrasting patterns, textiles and abstraction 'Charades' further explores the facade and deception of performative identity. This desire to conceal our true selves is often amplified by the experiences we form as children and develop from the homes we grew up in.
